Below, yourname.honkip.com and YOUR_UPDATE_KEY stand for your own name and update key.
The Starlink router has no Dynamic DNS setting, and on home plans Starlink shares one IPv4 address between many customers. That means nothing at home can be reached over IPv4, with any provider.
IPv6 does work. Starlink gives every home its own IPv6 addresses, so HonkIP can point your name at them:
- Pick a device at home that's always on, like a PC, NAS or Raspberry Pi.
- Set it up with the Windows or Linux guide. Both send your IPv6 address too.
- Reach your home from networks that have IPv6. Most mobile networks do.
Need IPv4 as well? Starlink's business plans can include a public IPv4 address, and then any guide here works.
Check it worked
- Save the settings, then look at the Dynamic DNS page again. Most routers show a status like Connected, Success or Updated, sometimes with your address next to it.
- Once you have an account, Last check-in on My home shows when it last worked.
- Look your name up from any computer: nslookup yourname.honkip.com. The address it shows should be your home's address.
