QNAP
Below, yourname.honkip.com and YOUR_UPDATE_KEY stand for your own name and update key.
Go to Network & Virtual Switch → DDNS → Add, choose Customized as the DDNS server, and fill in:
URL https://update.honkip.com/update?key=YOUR_UPDATE_KEY&ip=%IP%
Hostname yourname.honkip.com
Username yourname.honkip.com
Password YOUR_UPDATE_KEY
Type this exactly. %IP% is filled in by the router itself each time it updates. Don't replace it with anything.
Where it says Password, put your update key. It's not your HonkIP sign-in password.
Check it worked
- Save the settings, then look at the Dynamic DNS page again. Most routers show a status like Connected, Success or Updated, sometimes with your address next to it.
- Once you have an account, Last check-in on My home shows when it last worked.
- Look your name up from any computer: nslookup yourname.honkip.com. The address it shows should be your home's address.
