Just once, in a browser

Below, yourname.honkip.com and YOUR_UPDATE_KEY stand for your own name and update key.

Good for a quick test, or when you're at home and want to point your name at this network right now.

  1. On a phone or computer that's on your home Wi-Fi, open this link:
    https://update.honkip.com/update?key=YOUR_UPDATE_KEY
  2. The page shows one line. good followed by an address means your name now points there. nochg means it already did. badauth means the update key is wrong.
  3. Bookmark it, so you can do it again in one tap.

This sets it once. Most homes get a new address now and then, so also set up your router or a device that stays on.

Check it worked

  1. The link shows good or nochg and an address. That's it working.
  2. Once you have an account, Last check-in on My home shows when it last worked.
  3. Look your name up from any computer: nslookup yourname.honkip.com. The address it shows should be your home's address.
