Below, yourname.honkip.com and YOUR_UPDATE_KEY stand for your own name and update key.

Go to Internet → Permit Access → DynDNS. On German menus it's Internet → Freigaben → DynDNS. Tick Use DynDNS, set Provider to User-defined, and fill in:

Update URL https://update.honkip.com/update?key=<pass>&ip=<ipaddr>&ipv6=<ip6addr> Domain name yourname.honkip.com Username yourname.honkip.com Password YOUR_UPDATE_KEY

Type this exactly. <pass>, <ipaddr> and <ip6addr> are filled in by the router itself each time it updates. Don't replace them with anything.

Where it says Password, put your update key. It's not your HonkIP sign-in password.

Check it worked

  1. Save the settings, then look at the Dynamic DNS page again. Most routers show a status like Connected, Success or Updated, sometimes with your address next to it.
  2. Once you have an account, Last check-in on My home shows when it last worked.
  3. Look your name up from any computer: nslookup yourname.honkip.com. The address it shows should be your home's address.
