TP-Link
Below, yourname.honkip.com and YOUR_UPDATE_KEY stand for your own name and update key.
Open Advanced → Network → Dynamic DNS. On many Archer routers, and on Omada and business routers like the ER605, the provider list has a Custom option. If you see Custom, fill in:
Update URL https://update.honkip.com/update?key=YOUR_UPDATE_KEY
Domain yourname.honkip.com
Leave out &ip=[IP]. TP-Link doesn't fill it in. It sends the word [IP] as-is and the update fails. HonkIP sees your address anyway.
If the router won't save a link with a ? in it, use https://update.honkip.com/u/YOUR_UPDATE_KEY instead. Older firmware without HTTPS can use http://.
If your TP-Link only shows a fixed list with no Custom (most Deco mesh systems), let another device at home keep your name up to date: a Windows PC, a NAS or a Raspberry Pi.
Check it worked
- Save the settings, then look at the Dynamic DNS page again. Most routers show a status like Connected, Success or Updated, sometimes with your address next to it.
- Once you have an account, Last check-in on My home shows when it last worked.
- Look your name up from any computer: nslookup yourname.honkip.com. The address it shows should be your home's address.
