Synology

Below, yourname.honkip.com and YOUR_UPDATE_KEY stand for your own name and update key.

Go to Control Panel → External Access → DDNS → Customize Provider and add:

Service provider HonkIP Query URL https://update.honkip.com/update?key=__PASSWD__&ip=__MYIP__

Type this exactly. __PASSWD__ and __MYIP__ are filled in by the router itself each time it updates. Don't replace them with anything.

Save, then click Add and fill in:

Service provider HonkIP Hostname yourname.honkip.com Username/Email yourname.honkip.com Password/Key YOUR_UPDATE_KEY

Where it says Password/Key, put your update key. It's not your HonkIP sign-in password.

Check it worked

  1. Save the settings, then look at the Dynamic DNS page again. Most routers show a status like Connected, Success or Updated, sometimes with your address next to it.
  2. Once you have an account, Last check-in on My home shows when it last worked.
  3. Look your name up from any computer: nslookup yourname.honkip.com. The address it shows should be your home's address.
